Another highlight of our trip to Tasmania was the Bay of Fire bush retreat. Have you ever tried of glamping? Neither have I until this trip. It was truly an experience.
Bays of Fire bush retreat is a boutique camp style accommodation located in a beautiful bush setting, only minutes drive from the stunning beaches of the Bay of Fires and Binalong Bay. The Bush Retreat has sleek shared washroom and kitchen facilities and is a perfect base to explore the Bay of Fires. There are a total of 10-12 tents around the premises.
There in the middle of the giant tent was a beautifully made up bed. There were fluffy white towels, hot water bottles, a casual reading book, wine glasses and a jar of marshmallows for the campfire later that night.
The communal kitchen is prepped and ready to use if you feel like cooking your own meals. If not, they provide dinners and breakfast which one would find in a fine dining restaurant. However, do drop them an email ahead to inform them as they need time to prepare. The meal (crispy fried chicken with mash potatoes) was simple yet truly delicious and the aesthetics of the plating was immaculate. Some people retreated to their tents after dinner, the rest moved to the fire pit. Sitting under the asphalt sky which was peppered with stars while cosying up to a warm fire pit roasting marshmallows was definitely an unforgettable experience.
Soon after it’s time for bed and the sound of the waves crashing nearby lulled us to sleep. Such a comforting sound to fall asleep to. Come morning breakfast was served with the same level of tastiness as the night before. One night was all we had and we packed up and head over to Bays of Fire fully rested and well-fed for another day of adventure.
